Accounting and Finance

Designed to cover additional financial topics, students are introduced to accounting records of group accounts, financial statement analysis and to further understand the various groups of accounting ratios groups used for interpretation of business performance and limitations of financial analysis.
Understanding is also expected in aspects of legal nature of these forms, statutory framework governing these businesses and their major characteristics.

Allied Health & Medical Sciences

School leavers of today regard the Medical Sciences profession such as Nursing as one of the promising and rewarding careers. Nursing is a profession broadly defined, both as an art and a science. In today's challenging healthcare environment, a qualified nurse combines knowledge, skills, creativity and intuition to tent the sick, comfort the grieving and support the desolate.
Nursing is a profession the focuses on caring, nurturing and educating within the healthcare system. Those who are willing to learn, posses leadership qualities and have the desire to care for and improve the qualitiy of life should consider pursuing the course in Nursing.

Architecture

The programme provides students with essential contemporary theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and techniques required for design documentation of buildings and administration of building construction.

Throughout the programme, students will be constantly involved in design projects, ranging from open-ended architectural speculation to the preparation of production information drawings. 

Subjects in architectural technology, legal, contractual and management issues of architectural practice are also covered.

The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Business Studies degree programme offered in collaboration with the University of East London covers concepts and techniques which are relevant to four areas vital to any business. Business Studies is therefore multi-disciplinary in nature and can lead to many possible careers, although it is an ideal preparation for a career in any area of business and also in many other careers in the public and voluntary sectors.
A key feature of this programme is that at each stage of the degree, you will receive support in developing a personal development plan. This will consolidate learning, provide evidence of development to potential employers and also help you in planning your future after graduating.

Programme Overview

This programme is designed to equip students with to manage the unpredictable changes in today’s business environment. This programme includes an industry placement/project which provides students with first-hand working experience in a business environment.

The programme aims to provide students with an effective business education, which equips them with the analytical, conceptual & practical skills, deemed necessary by the business community. It also equips students with the knowledge and understanding of the essential of the dimensions of business activities and empowers them with the ability to apply business concepts & analytical techniques to a range of business problems, be it locally or abroad.

Civil Engineering

This programme will develop the skills and knowledge needed to gain employment in Civil Engineering related industries where the application of analytical, industrial laboratory and/or fieldwork skills is required. 

Upon completion of this qualification the student will have fulfilled the academic requirements for registration as an engineering technician. This programme also serves as an entrance requirement for degree studies in Civil Engineering.

Computer Science and Information Technology

The programme equips students with strong knowledge in fundamentals of IT and adequately prepares them to continue their studies in software engineering / systems analysis and database technologies.

The programme exposes students to the various fields of information technology such as software, hardware, operating systems, networking & multimedia.

Electrical & Electronic Engineering

This course equips students with a comprehensive coverage of electrical and electronics theory and practice. It is designed to give a broad understanding of the electronics industry whilst allowing student to develop his or her own specialist skills during the second year.
The programme focuses on six broad areas: business management techniques, analytical methods for engineers, engineering science, engineering design, project and electrical and electronic principles.

Mechanical Engineering

This course examines the basic areas of mechanical engineering, design, materials and manufacturing technology.  It aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge required for a career as a mechanical engineering technician.

Quantity Surveying & Construction Management

This programme is specially designed for those seeking a career in construction project management with a general civil engineering construction or building firms. Students will be exposed to basic understanding of the management of civil engineering and building processes.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current & future employment.

The aim of this programme is to provide a learning environment that ensures students to gain the education & training for a range of careers and develop skills in design, implementation & evaluation appropriate to the pathway they have chosen.
